At the Burgdorf Junction Fire,
The situation at times seems dire.
Trees have been a torchin'
And the Earth has been a scorchin'.
To the Salmon the front has fired,
And she doesn't seem a bit tired.
To take on this beast is almost a dare,
It takes folks who really care.
Almost through the second management team,
Plans people printing IAPs on ream after ream.
Hard workers in fire behavior,
And an Ops team who's dedication never waivers.
Finance and Time are counting their beans,
And the shower guys help make us clean.
From Nomex pants to duct tape,
Supplies keep us in good shape.
Communications keeps us a talkin'
And Ground Support keeps us from walkin'.
Weather tells us about wind speed,
And Safety Bob which cautions to heed.
The folks in Air Supply Spike Camps with care.
Stewart's catering provides good eats
While EMTs keep us on our feets.
Information helped handle Bill,
Now their media is virtually nill.
Near or far, Demob will get us there
To our homes with the greatest care.
Most importantly, there are the crews,
Oh, what they wouldn't give for a few frosty brews.
They continue to punch in line,
And at night on MREs they dine.
Civilians and soldiers both with Pulaskis and Saws,
Blistered hands and feet now raw.
Day after day they toil In the black, dusty soil.
Why have I taken this task
To babble, you must ask?
What can we conclude from all this?
Because each person plays a part we would miss
From lookout to crewmember, to I.C.,
Every member is important, you see?
