Fire Information Update: Rattle Complex for July 12, 2002 Fire Information: 435-259-2100 B.L.M. Field Office in Moab, UT The Rattle Complex is 75,019 acres in size and is 50% contained. The fire is burning 20 miles northeast of Green River, Utah. Fire continues to creep and smolder with occasional isolated torching within the interior unburned pockets of fuel. Crews made good progress in their work. The current strategy is to monitor the fire closely and take selective suppressive action as the conditions demand. Rehabilitation work will continue. Little or no spread is expected. Crews and engines will be inserted into areas to keep the fire in check. The transition to a Type II organization led by Patrick Murphy will occur at 6:00 AM on Friday, July 12, 2002. The Incident Command Post will be located at Canyonland Airport north of Moab, Utah. Demobilization of most engines and crews has been done. Resources include: 256 Personnel, 5 Crews, 6 Helicopters, 3 Engines, 7 Water tenders and 1 Dozer. No injuries have been reported on this fire.
