ORDER 17-01-237:

Tahoe National Forest

National Forest System Roads

Pursuant to 36 CFR 261.50(b), and for the protection of the public, the followint act is prohibited within the Tahoe National Forest. This order is effective from August 15, 2001 through August 31, 2001

Being on the National Forest System roads listed below:

· Forest Road No. 45-1 (Onion Valley Road) and

· Forest Road 19-22 (Sailor Point Road)

Pursuant to 36 CFR 261.50(e), the following persons are exempt from this order:

1. Any Federal, State, or local officer, or member of an organized rescue or firefighting force in the performance of official duty
2. Persons with a permit that specifically authorizes the otherwise prohibited act or omission
3. Owners or lessees of land in the area
4. Residents in the area

This prohibition is in addition to the general prohibitions in 36 CFR Part 261, Subpart A.

Violation of this prohibition is punishable by a fine of not more than $5,000 for an individual or $10,000 for an organization, or imprisonment for not more than 6 months, or both. 16 USC 551 and 18 USC 3559 and 3571.
