Deer Point Fire Final Update
Saturday, August 10th, 2002
Website for fire: http://www.fs.fed.us/r6/okanogan/
News From The Fire Line:
Mop up of completed lines and burnout areas continue, as well as rehabilitation
of areas damaged by fire fighting activities. The fire continues to
be active within the Grade Creek drainage. Because of the steep rugged
terrain, limited access and the green fuels, no active suppression activities
are warranted at this time. However, monitoring of the fire's progress
will continue. As of 6 am Sunday, August 11, 2002, a local Team commanded
by George Marcott will take charge of the Deer Point Fire.
A special thanks to the communities of Manson, Chelan and surrounding
communities for their support!
