Summary of Closures as of 8/1/2002

On The Chelan District: All campfires are banned in dispersed sites and developed campgrounds except for the Glacier Peak Wilderness and Lake Chelan Sawtooth Wilderness (i.e. campfires are allowed in these two wilderness areas within the boundaries of the Chelan Ranger District).Nearly the entire road system on the north shore of Lake Chelan is closed to public use.
Roads are barricaded and posted as closed at or near:
The Antilon Snopark on the 8200 Road, Washington Creek Road #8021-124 (above Gun Club Road) Antoine Creek Road 8140 just dow valley from the National Forest Boudary, The Cooper Mountain Road 8020 also remains closed just above the Echo Valley down hill ski area. However, the Road to Echo Ridge Nordic Ski/Mountain Bike Area, 8021 is now open as of 8:00am, Thursday 8/8/02, the 8021 Road is barricaded and closed above the Echo Ridge Nordic Ski Area at the junction of Road 8021 and 8021-120. The following trails are closed: Uno Peak 1260, Summer Blossom 1258, (between Summer Blossom Trailhead and the junction of Trail 1258 & Trail 424), Trail 1259.3 (between South Navarre Campground and the junction of Trail 1259.3 and Trail 1258), Safety Harbor 1261, Moore Pint 1247.1 (between the lakeshore and the Lakeshore Trail1247, Fish Creek 1248, North Fork Fish Creek 1248.1, and Horton Butte 1250.1. Closed Campgrounds: More Point, Cascade Creek, Safety Harbor, Deer Point, Mitchell Creek, Antilon Lake, South Navarre, and Poison Springs.

Only Campground currently open on the North Shore is Prince Creek.On The Methow District:
Black Canyon Road #4010, and the South Fork of Gold Creek Road #4330-600 at the junction of roads #4330-600, #4330, and #4330-200, Squaw Creek Trail Closed, Trail #430, Closed at Junction of FS Road 1004-100 to Junction with FS Road 8020.
